South Gloucestershire Drone Club is proud to host our annual British Qualifier Event at YOSC.
Whether you're chasing a place in the global rankings, looking to test yourself against some of the country's fastest pilots, or simply want a great day of racing, this event is for you.
We're running a locally approved variation of the BQE format designed to maximise flying time and reward consistency under pressure. Qualifying will be based on your fastest 3 consecutive laps, with no cap on the number of laps you can complete during each qualifying round. Once qualifying is complete, pilots will progress into 3-point finals.
This event is open to pilots of all abilities. You don't need to be a front-runner to take part. If you've ever wanted to experience a major race event, improve your skills, and fly alongside some of the UK's best racers, this is a perfect opportunity.
Any FPV racing drone may be flown, from dedicated 5-inch race builds to freestyle quads, toothpicks and other compliant aircraft. While a 5-inch race setup is likely to be the most competitive choice, all aircraft must comply with current BDRA technical regulations.
To ensure plenty of track time for everyone, entries are limited to 30 pilots.
Race Format
Our event will use the Rotorhazard timing system integrated with Trackside, with live results available throughout the day. The event will also be streamed live on YouTube so pilots and spectators can follow the action as it unfolds.
Local Variation
For this event, qualifying laps are not limited to three laps per round. Pilots may complete as many laps as they wish within the allocated round time. Your fastest set of 3 consecutive laps will determine your qualifying position.
Qualifying: Fastest 3 Consecutive Laps
Mains: 3-Lap Finals
